Mission: to foster a love of reading for pleasure and information with the ripple effects of developing young people who communicate clearly, think critically, and care deeply.
With a collection of over 17,000 books and audiovisual resources, our Library Media Center serves children ranging in age from 4 to 14 years. Classes, grades K - 3rd, come weekly for storytime or simple research projects, as well as checking out books. Beginning with 4th grade, teachers use the library as an extension of their classrooms, coming periodically to do research or listen to book talks. Students develop skills in notetaking, citing sources, and avoiding plagiarism in the context of meaningful projects. With the computer lab next door and six computers in the library, students can access both Destiny library catalog, World Book Online and educational websites. The library is open all day (7:30am to 3:30pm) to individual students seeking books, working independently, and enjoying the sanctuary of this inviting place.
