Book bite by Laura.
I can be very feisty and full of energy. Tallulah was like this too and that is what made me hungry to turn the pages. This story was simmering with real-life drama. The character who stirred me up and made me think was Tallulah. The tastiest morsel was when Tallulah and her sister Eugenia sneaked cigars from her Daddy’s pocket. about people.

The Ghost of Crutchfield Hall by Mary Downing Hahn
Book Bites by Evie and Bethany
Evie: The cover of the book just speaks to me and it makes me want to know why there’s a blood splotch on the photo. And the other reason is because it’s a mystery and to me one of the best mysteries ever.
Bethany: The summary seemed good…how the main character is an orphan. Then, she finds out her aunt and uncle want to adopt her, and her cousin Sophia looks exactly like her. But, Sophia is dead, and her other cousin, James, is deaf.
Both: This story was simmering with action, suspense, mystery, and haunting.
Evie: The character who stirred me up was Florence whose parents had died and she was sent to Miss Meadlycoat’s orphanage for orphan girls!
Bethany: The character who stirred me up was Sophia because she was on the roof and dared James to walk on the roofline to the chimney and back. James said he’d do it if Sophia does. Sophia does and James accidentally pushes her, Sophia dies, and she wants revenge.
Evie: The tastiest morsel of the story is when another girl in the story dies and Florence’s parents die on the same day. And the girl Sophia comes back as a ghost and haunts Crutchfield Hall where her brother James, her aunt and uncle live with their niece Florence.
Bethany: The best part is when Sophia tells James he has to die with the family that Sophia believes James killed. Florence tries to get them from fighting. When Sophia falls off the roof again, then James proves himself by walking on the roofline and back.
Evie: I am hungry for more books like this because lots of other people like mysteries like this one. I like Nancy Drew and Cam Jansen, the girl detective. I’m sure that lots of people will give good reviews to this book. It’s one of the best books I have ever read.

Football Double Threat by Matt Christopher
Book Bite by Drew
I was hungry to turn the pages when Rocky broke his friend’s leg because then he had to do many things because he felt guilty. This story was simmering with real-life drama. The character who stirred me up was Rocky. I would like to read more stories like this because it is about football and there is much drama. I love sports a lot. It is one of my favorite hobbies.
