This book is about Muhammed Ali’s boxing career. When Ali first started, he was beaten a lot. He would train six days a week. Through all of his hard work Ali came to be known as “The Greatest.”
My favorite boxing match Ali had was his second fight against “Smokin Joe.” The fight took place on Jan. 28, 1974, in New York City. Ali avenged his first match against Joe Frazier. Ali won a grueling 12- round fight with his power and elusiveness.
I like this book because I like boxing, otherwise called “The Fighting Game.” I love Ali’s mouthing off and queer quotes. My favorites are “I am the Greatest!” and “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.” I love the way the author wrote it. He did a great job!
You should read this book because it points out how Ali stood up for the black or Muslim man, woman, and child. It points out the lows and highs of his career. (The lowest point was probably when he wouldn’t go the war in Vietnam because his relighio wouldn’t allow it and he almost had to go to federal prison for it.) The book is great for a biography report, even if you can’t do athletes you may be able to do a report on his political influence. I loved the writer’s emphasis on Ali’s political standards. I love the book overall and I would give it 4.4 stars!
